If you’re expecting to take a dip in the sea, there are plenty of options but be mindful that it’s the Atlantic Ocean, which can be cold. Perhaps the most popular and unique experience in Pico is exploring the island’s wine history. I drove up into the hills (only do this in good weather!) and failed to find the lakes and caldeira I’d come for (but still enjoyed the drive). It’s the warmest and most stable time of the year, with long sunny days, calm seas, and temperatures averaging 24-28°C.
